Plot of Better This World
It revolves around two childhood friends; David McKay and Bradley Crowder from Midland, Texas who believe in making change. They go to protest at the 2008 Republican National Convention held in St Paul, Minnesota.
On their journey there, they meet Brandon Darby, who appears to be an older activist who wants to help them. However, he was working secretly with the FBI as an informant. He insisted they take more actions like making Molotov cocktails, which they wouldn’t have done on their own.
Afterward, the FBI arrests David and Bradley, accusing them of domestic terrorism. The film depicts their legal fights under pressure and how this was difficult for them as close friends. It becomes evident that it was Darby’s manipulations that led to a staged setup where both became victims.
Throughout the film, we see how David and Brad cope with legal system trials against them, which have affected their lives, including those of their families.
